The City (Public) Library is presently located in the ground floor of the City Hall.  It is one of the four (4) offices under the supervision of the Office of the Administrator.  The Library is manned by four (4) staff members consisting of one Librarian, bookbinder, Library Aide and Bindery Helper.

It has thirteen bookshelves, five individual tables (for the personnel), three reading long tables, and several chairs.  Books are accessioned according to arrivals and classified according to Dewey Decimal System of Classification, and also cataloged and labeled.  To date there are three thousand and more volumes of books accessioned, mostly references for college and high school, and supplementary books for elementary level.

It started with 632 volumes of books.  When the library was re-organized, we received donations from the good people of America through Asia Foundation Book Program, from the United States Information Service (USIS), and from other private persons of Pagadian City and other regions or places.  The City Government also purchased several books and subscribed dailies and other periodicals.  The City Library receives also foreign magazines, newsletter, and pamphlets, as well as journals as donations.
